Social D piratic sd

maybe in person those items are obviously pirate copies, but in the photographs, the cd and artwork looks authentic. I cant tell that they are pirate copies.

We think this is not very pleasant theme of talks and it can make angry somebody (like us when we saw it) but lately we visited Moscow and made pix of piratic Social D's CD.


We were in Moscow at psychobilly gig where performed famous in Europe and Russia psycho-band The Meantraitors. On support there was psycho-band fron Ivanovo - small Russian town - Hellstompers, our old good friends.
When we going to Moscow we always wisiting their biggest market with CDs and technics. This is not like yours big shops where CDs lays on shelfs - there are tables with sellers which is independent from others. So we found piratic CDs of SD. First we found "Sex,Love" Cd with printed inlays but without booklet with texts. See the pix on link. All printed stuff looked very rough and crude, we luoghed when saw in "booklet" only Mike's and Charlie's photos. It seems that Two Bags and John Maurer not so popular in Russia and not deserved pirate's honour... See the picture of back cover with songs list - there is another font and it looked also like very rough work. Prise of that CD was near 4$.

Then we found small shop with the very piratic CDs with punk\ska\oi\psycho music. There was piratic"Sex,Love" and "Mommy's little monster" CDs and "Live in OC" DVD. And that ones was horrible - it was just CD-Rs and there was just one-sided CD cover printed on computer printer. We was indignanted and even didn't want to make a picture of those CDs.

We think if friend make a copy of CD for friend - we can understand it. But there all that stuff was on sale, someone making money by somebodys hard work. And main point - Moscow is very fat and rich town - there, on that market was official stores of Sony music, EMI and Universal - so if SD not so popular for official stores, pirates feel free for making money using their work. Many shops there have local licenses for purchasing foreign CDs only on the territorry of ex-soviet. Those CDs have original covers and costs same or little less as in US or Europe. But we not found such release of Social D's last album.

We are not feel the shame for that story - because Russia is not our faterland, but anyways - sorry if that all upset somebody.

But the middle picture gives it away, because it just has the pic of Mike and Charlie, and none of the lyrics. Where did John and Jonny go?? Oh geez, thats funny!
Hmmm, and the other stores were much worse?? Thats unfortunate that they are doing that, but not a surprise.
I hope you two are doing well, your package of goodies should arrive shortly. I will respond to your last e-mail sometime soon too. Thanks again for the autographed Madheads CD and video.

Hey Wolfpits, maybe on pix all looks not so ugly but not for us. Look on details and font on back cover - this is different from original cover. Wish you luck with your band!
